Project "In Harmony with Nature- promotion of biodiversity of Southeastern Poland"
The aim of the project was to raise public awareness about biodiversity and the economic value of ecosystems in Southeast Poland, especially in protected areas.
The project was intended for representatives of local governments, non-governmental organizations dealing with nature protection and ecology, the scientific community, mountain guides, foresters, entrepreneurs of industries related to natural resources and tourism, the local community from the region of Southeastern Poland, in particular NATURA 2000 areas.
Main activities in the project:
1. promotion of the project objectives through the organization of thematic conferences:
- Conference entitled. "Promotion of biodiversity as an opportunity for the development of South-Eastern Poland", organized in Rzeszów.
- Conference entitled. "Opportunities for the use of biodiversity values in Southeastern Poland", organized in Sanok.
- Conference entitled. "Nature tourism - opportunities and limitations of economic exploitation of protected areas", organized in Zamosc.
2. organization of a series of 2-day workshops in the towns of: Zwierzyniec, Bolestraszyce, Ustrzyki Dolne, Pulawy Górne, Dukla, Horyniec.
The workshops consisted of 2 modules:
- Economic use of ecosystems and biodiversity.
- Conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity.
3. development of 2 nature and culture quests for tourists, in the area of Upper Pulawy and Zwierzyniec.
4. development of a publication and on the promotion of biodiversity entitled. "Biodiversity of Southeastern Poland".
5. organization of a photo contest "Biodiversity of Southeastern Poland in the lens". The awarded nature photographs were placed in a publication promoting the biodiversity of the region.
6. creation of a website on Facebook.
